Mark Cuban still doesn't believe OKC's Russell Westbrook is a superstar

Westbrook entered Sunday's game against the Mavericks averaging 31.7 points, 10.7 rebounds and 10.1 assists.

A year ago during the playoffs, Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban raised eyebrows when he said Oklahoma City Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook is not a superstar.

Not only is the Thunder's star guard putting together an MVP season, but he's also piece together what could go down as one of the best years in the history of the National Basketball Association. He said that's a two-man race between Houston's James Harden and Cleveland's LeBron James. I'm going presidential and said I never, never said it.

And it wasn't an unintentional omission - Cuban appears to be doubling down on his criticism of Westbrook from last season. While we've not only seen some exceptional games, we've also been able to experience a player almost average a triple-double (Russell Westbrook). There's obvious reason to believe that Westbrook will give fans plenty more to add to his resume, but players are seemingly coming out of the woodworks to post insane stat lines. He said then that the Thunder guard was not a superstar.

He backed those comments up again on Sunday, telling reporters Westbrook needs "fifty wins and win a playoff series".

"That's no disrespect to Russell", Cuban said. With a wry smile, he added: "And if I changed my mind, it would ruin all the fun for you guys". He also has an awesome 30 triple-doubles this season.

It'd be an understatement to say that Cuban's stance is not a unanimous opinion among the Mavs.
