49ers among three teams interested in Tyrod Taylor

Buffalo Bills columnist Vic Carucci is reporting the San Francisco 49ers, New York Jets, and Cleveland Browns are three of what could be more teams that have an interest in signing Taylor should he be released.

Despite being under contract through 2021 and due around $13.5 million per year until then, Taylor is not owed anymore guaranteed money by the Bills, assuming they don't pick up his option. The 27-year-old signal caller has made it known, however, that he is not willing to take less to remain with the Bills.

In the meantime, the Bills continue to monitor the veteran QB market, meeting with agents to gauge price points of free-agent options.

(Interested teams) are the Cleveland Browns, San Francisco 49ers, and New York Jets, an National Football League source said.

But after Buffalo finished a mediocre 7-9 in 2016, they cleaned house, fired Rex Ryan and parted ways with prominent staff members such as offensive coordinator, Anthony Lynn, who is now the head coach of the Los Angeles Chargers.

The Buffalo Bills are about a week away from another potential franchise-altering decision at quarterback, and it's causing considerable consternation within the organization.

Vance Joseph is now coaching the Broncos, and it is unclear if the team has moved on from their interest in Taylor. And given that he's had some success as a starting quarterback, it's easy to see why the aforementioned three teams reportedly would be interested in his services.
