CES 2017: Lenovo Unveils 9 New ThinkPad Laptops

Lenovo Think Pad P Series Launch Party At Siggraph 2015

The new laptops will be available in the market by March 2017. All the updated laptops also come equipped with the latest seventh-generation Intel Kaby Lake processors.

For instance, each ThinkPad's trackpad now supports Microsoft's Precision Touchpad spec which is supposed to offer more precise and smoother feedback.

Possibly the most interesting news of all is that Lenovo is going to be offering some ThinkPad models in a new silver color, alongside the traditional matte black.

Lenovo doesn't mess around with the design of mainstream ThinkPads, which have a strong following, but you can expect thinner and lighter laptops with longer battery life.

Recent laptops including the ThinkPad X270, the ThinkPad Yoga 370, four new ThinkPad T Ultrabook models, will include support for Microsoft's Windows Precision Touchpad, a new interface for configuring touchpad gestures and was released with the launch of Windows 10.

According to Computerworld, when it goes on sale this coming March, the price of the Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 370 will start at $1264. The device turns into a tablet when you rotate the screen 360 degrees.

A cheaper option with a 13.3-inch screen is the ThinkPad 13, which comes with an HD screen and NVMe SSD storage.

The ThinkPad USB-C Dock has two DisplayPort outputs, three USB 3.0 ports, two USB 2.0 ports, one USB Type-C port, Gigabit Ethernet, VGA, and a headphone jack.

This laptop has a 14-inch FHD Touch display, packing 32GB of RAM, a 1TB SSD, and discrete NVIDIA GeForce 940MX graphics. The USB-C dock can also power two displays with 1920x1080 resolution at 60 Hz.

Business-leaning folks can look to the new ThinkPad T470s, ThinkPad T470, ThinkPad T570, and ThinkPad T470p which will set them back by $1099, $914, $909, and $1049, respectively. The system is joined by Thunderbolt 3 technology, so users can quickly connect to a range of hard drives, displays, and other accessories.

Lenovo today said it was thinking of updating its 2017 ThinkPad laptops to include newer processors, more features, and importantly improved TrackPads. It will be available in March starting at $909. The front panel offers a Thunderbolt 3 port, USB, and 3.5 mm audio, and the rear offers four more USB 3.0 ports (one charging), LAN, and a VGA output.
